It is an anxiety disorder that can occur after traumatic events, particularly life-threatening events such as natural disasters, serious accidents, military combat, sexual or physical assaults and terrorist incidents.

What are the symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress?

  • Depression
  • Being on your guard the whole time
  • Thinking about the trauma over and over
  • Panic attacks

Shock and denial are very normal responses. People suffering from PTSD have recurring memories, nightmares and vivid images of the incident that occurred. They can become haunted by these thoughts.
