1. Addictions such as smoking, drinking, drug abuse and overeating are linked to a stressful lifestyle as people use them as an escape route or a way of trying to switch off from their problems.

9. One study said that middle-aged men who didn't have much emotional support and were under extreme stress were 5 times more likely to die within 7 years than those who had close personal ties and the same level of stress
10. Stress can make people unable to achieve an orgasm and can lead to diminished sexual desire
